The weights are already in the tools
Measure a beam with a tool that knows what a W12x26 weighs, and the tonnage shows up on the takeoff while you draw. Somebody has to check fifteen hundred shapes against the tables first, and keep checking as the tables change.
What you are buying
Not the format, and not permission to use it.
Excalibur View keeps its tools in .evtools files, which are plain JSON. Open one in Notepad and you can read every tool and change a weight you think is wrong. It imports Revu .bpx and .btx as well. Nothing in a chest needs my permission or my server, and anyone willing to put in the hours can build their own. I would rather say that here than have you work it out later.
That is the expensive part. Each shape gets checked against the published tables, spelled the way a mill spells it, with the weight in the column the takeoff reads. Then it has to stay current as the tables change.
Chests load in the free app. No licence needed.
What is in each chest
Every set, and how many tools it carries. The weights themselves are in the file, not on this page.
Structural steel
Built for fabrication and erection takeoff, and the one I use every day. Linear shapes carry pounds per foot. Plate, grating, floor plate and sheet carry pounds per square foot, so an area measured on a plate reads out in pounds.

The last five sets have five tools each. They came across from the Revu profile this chest grew out of, and they are enough to measure with rather than a trade chest of their own. Counts read off the chest as it ships, 23 September 2026.
More trades get added here as they are built.
How they are sold
By trade, one at a time.
A fabricator has no use for the electrical chest, and an electrician has no use for three hundred tube sizes. So each trade is its own chest, bought on its own. They can also go in with Excalibur View Office, which usually works out cheaper for a shop buying seats at the same time.
None of it is set up to sell yet. Structural steel is the one that is built and in daily use. The rest are trades I would do next, and the order depends on who asks. Tell me which trade you want and I will tell you where it stands and what it will cost.
Common questions
Does it replace the chest I already have?
No. Load as many as you like. Your own sets and a chest you bought sit side by side in the same panel, and yours stay as they were.
Do my Revu tool chests come across?
Yes. Excalibur View imports .bpx profiles and .btx tool sets with their tools, custom columns and unit weights, then saves them as .evtools.
Is a chest locked to my machine?
No. There is nothing in it to unlock. It is a file you own and it opens on any machine in the office.
Can I change a weight I disagree with?
Yes, in the program or in a text editor. If you find one that is wrong, tell me and I will fix it for everybody.
Do I need Excalibur View Office?
No. Chests load in the free app. Office puts everyone in the shop on the same chest without emailing files around.
What if the trade I need is not built?
Say which one. A trade chest takes a few weeks of checking, and I go in the order people ask.
