Compare two revisions of a sheet, run OCR on a scanned set, use the batch and document tools, and stamp, sign and seal. The Shop List turns a steel takeoff into a cut list.

What costs money
Free is one person working alone. When an office wants everyone on the same set, with live markups and one tool chest for every seat, that's the Office server. It runs on a machine you own and is $250 a seat, paid once.

What it sends
It asks GitHub whether a newer version has been published, and that's all. No account, no analytics and no crash reports, and your drawings never leave your computer. Every connection, listed.
Updates download in the background and wait for you. Nothing restarts in the middle of your work.
What it runs on
Windows: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, and Windows Server 2016 through 2025 with the Desktop Experience, including over Remote Desktop. It installs for the person who opens it, so nobody needs to be an administrator.
Mac: macOS 11 Big Sur or later. Apple Silicon or Intel. One universal build, signed and notarized by Apple. OCR on a Mac uses Tesseract, which you install separately; on Windows it uses the text recognition built into Windows.
Common questions
Can I use the free version for paid work?
Yes. Bids, change orders, anything you get paid for. The only limit is that it's one person.
Does it expire?
No. There's no trial clock on the desktop program, and it never asks for a license.
Do I need to sign up?
No. Download it and open it. There's no account and no email address anywhere in the process.
Why is it free?
One estimator working alone isn't who I need to charge. An office sharing sets and tool chests across six seats is, and that's what Office is for.
